Our journey continues....
Sixty and loving it! We are officially in North Carolina and
loving our new journey. It's full of challenges, but what would life be without
a few ups and downs. Perseverance, lots of faith and Heavenly Father guiding us
through each and every day.
The weather here is so warm and moist, so different from
Colorado. The countryside is green and beautiful. We haven't seen many bugs at
all. People drive like crazy though, so fast. We've decided there really isn't
a speed limit here. People are in such a hurry. It's a little crowded in Raleigh
and some of the bigger cities. If you travel about a half hour outside of
Raleigh it's not as congested and the countryside is so beautiful. Lots of
crepe myrtle trees everywhere, it's gorgeous.
We are out of the hotel and in an apartment and waiting to
close on a home. JoJo is still adjusting. I think he's a little confused,
missing his yard and especially Paul. They became very close when we were at
Jamie and Kirk's. JoJo saw a little boy at the pet store the other day and
followed him. I think he thought the little boy was Paul. I hear that Paul is
always looking for him..."JoJooo".
We miss them too! Once we get settled we plan on taking trips to New
York to visit. It's only about a nine hour drive to Jamie and Kirk's. It's not
too bad of a drive and it will be worth every minute just to see them again.
Ladies the shopping here is amazing. The malls are huge. I
hear it takes a day just to get through them. We've only been to the Crabtree
Mall. It was next to the hotel we stayed at. Most of our things are still at Jamie's, so we are living out of suitcases. Once
we get the job and house stuff settled we will head back to Jamie's and get our
things. But in the meantime I only have sandals and casual clothes to wear. I
needed a dress and shoes for church, so I went shopping. You know shopping is
so much more fun when you walk away with a great deal. I found a dress at
Macy's for about $30.00 and shoes and a leather purse at this great store called
Belk's, it's like Macy's only bigger and better. They were both each around
$30.00 and so cute! I'm wearing the same outfit every Sunday but it's so worth
it.
Well I'm off to bed. More to come, pictures and updates.
