and our journey continues....

2009 has sure come in with a “BANG” and some challenging times for all. This Friday, February 6th will be Dale’s last day with Nike. The last 4 years have been a good ride. Dale has come a long way in his career. He has worked with some good people and some challenging ones, but he has come out stronger. We will miss the gym at Nike and playing racquet ball. We had so much fun playing racquet ball together. The Nike store was great, too. Now we are off to new adventures.

We feel very confident, even with the down turn in the economy, that there is another job out there for us that will be a move forward in Dale’s career.
Dale is finishing his Masters degree in Organizational Psychology and Development. He will be done this November . He’s hoping to get into a consulting position. It just depends on what opportunities come our way. He is learning so much and doing so well. It’s a hard time but exciting to think of the possibilities ahead of us.

While Dale is studying and doing all the hard work I’ve been looking at houses in Colorado (on line) and keeping my eye on our “someday puppy”. Our dream is, of course, to relocate to Colorado where our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren are living. The price of houses in Colorado compared to the price of houses here is considerably lower. It’s always fun to look and dream.

In searching for a puppy I’ve come across a couple of great organizations – HUA, Hands United for Animals (http://www.hua.org/Welcome.html ) and Dogpile Search and Rescue, (http://rescue.dogpile.com/jackandemma). If you get a chance to look at either of these websites I think you’ll be moved by their cause, enjoy looking at the dogs and reading their amazing stories. At HUA you can make a donation to any of the dogs and become their “Buddy”. There is one dog we have been watching. Her name is Spring and you can visit her website at http://www.hua.org/Dogs-For-Adoption/Spring.html.

She is a Beagle terrier mix and is adorable. We would love to adopt her. Hopefully she will still be available when Dale gets a new job and we are able to move into a new home.

On Dogpile’s website there is a touching story entitled “Dogpile helps soldier bring rescued puppies home”. The story is worth reading and the puppies are adorable. My mother introduced me to this website and I’m grateful she did. Our pets can be a great strength to us in difficult times and be wonderful companions.
